What is Minecraft?

Minecraft is the latest breakout game by indie developer Markus Persson. The skinny is this: you're thrust into a 3D grid-based world with one objective: survive. Beat trees with your bare hands to get wood, use the wood to make tools, start mining and pray you can make yourself a place to hide before nightfall, when all the creepy crawlies come out. Minecraft has recently exploded on the multiplayer front as well, allowing players to play survival together, or just have a server without monsters where they can build whatever they wish.
