Pre-Sales & Billing
A "slot" refers to a user slot. Ordering an 8-slot server means you will be able to have a maximum of 8 people on the server at any one point in time (though more than 8 unique users can connect). Is there a contract? When can I cancel?
No, there are no contracts. You can cancel anytime, just shoot us an email. Please note there are no refunds of server fees, as per our Terms of Service. Is money automatically taken out of my Paypal/etc account?
No. Transactions are initiated by the customer. The system simply creates the invoices, it is up to you to pay them (or not).Do you offer a split invoice system for me and my friends?
Yes! We call it "Group Invoicing." On the Invoice page, each invoice will have two links next to it, one for you, and one for you to pass out to your friends. Your friends can pay anywhere between $2 and the full due invoice amount. How long does it take for my server to be active?
Servers are activated after payment is received. Your server is provisioned manually by a staff member, and will take no more than 6 hours (it's usually quite quick). Can I upgrade or downgrade slots after ordering? Will I have to reset the server?
Absolutely! You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Just shoot us an email, or submit your request through the Suggestion Box on the control panel. Upgrades and downgrades do not affect your server's maps or mods, just the slot count.
Maps & Uploading
Confirm your map folder contains the level.dat file, then compress your map save into a ZIP file. On the control panel, go to the Map Manager, and click on "Upload World."I uploaded a world but it didn't show up!?
That's most likely because level.dat was missing, or something happened while transferring the map to the server. Check the Activity Log on the control panel, and e-mail us if it fails on the second try.I uploaded a world a while ago and the slot still says "Locked for upload/restore"?
Something broke! E-mail us to get that resolved. Most likely your upload was interrupted by clicking the back button, or a hiccup in your connection. How do I back up a map?
Go to the Map Manager, and click on "Backup World." Simple as that! How do I restore a backup?
Go to the Map Manager, and click on "Restore from Backup", select the backup you want to use, the slot you'd like to restore to, read the warning and check the box. Then click Restore and give it about 5 minutes. What is the "Public Backups Directory"?
The Public Backups Directory is a web-accessible directory where your map backups are stored. You can disable this if you'd rather not give everyone access to your map backups. You must enable it temporarily (if it's disabled) to download your map backups. What is a Cartograph Image?
A Cartograph map is a visual rendering of the map. It allows you to see the world from a bird's-eye view or isometric view. It's pretty handy to see what's around you, or check out your creations! Can I recover a deleted world?!
Unfortunately not, unless you have a backup. Once files are deleted, they are gone forever! :(
Yes, via the "Edit Properties" page. You can change all the fields except max-players and server-ip. We restrict raw access to the file in order to maintain IP assignments and player limits. How do I edit files?
The File Manager is what you're looking for! It lets you browse through the directories that make up your server. You can edit any non-binary text file by clicking on its name. Why can't I edit all the files in the File Manager?
Binary files are not editable because they are not text. Files like minecraft_server.jar and many .dat files are just gibberish to humans when opened in text editors. If you feel a file is uneditable by mistake, e-mail us and we'll get it fixed for you!How can I make myself or others admin?
You can make people admin by adding usernames to 'ops.txt' in the File Manager, one per line, and then restarting the server.

You can read about Bukkit on their main site, htrp://bukkit.org. The forums are going to be your best shot for support until they populate their Wiki. Will switching mods mess up my saves?
No, changing mods will not affect your maps.
Bukkit by itself has no commands, it relies on plugins. Search for plugins here: http://plugins.bukkit.org/How do I add users and groups?
Your best bet is the Permissions plugin hereHow do I get commands like /warp, /sethome, /spawn, etc? How do I get colored nicknames and text? Where do I find plugins?
Search for plugins here: http://plugins.bukkit.org/Where can I get support for Bukkit?
On their Forums.
The extra settings page controls settings for the server wrapper. The wrapper monitors server output and sends commands to the server console. What is a whitelist?
The whitelist only allows people listed in whitelist.txt to join the server. All other people are denied access. What is Auto-Save?
Auto-save forces the server to automatically save the map to disk, in case the server crashes. It will help minimize lost data if the server crashes. What are Periodic Messages?
Periodic messages are messages that are displayed at a certain interval in the server. What is a MOTD?
A MOTD is a Message of the Day, it is displayed when a user connects.
Updates are available as soon as humanly possible after they are released. Why is there no update for my mod?
The creator of your mod probably hasn't released a update yet. Every minecraft update breaks all mods, give them a bit of time!
